Seeing Spots

I spotted (no pun intended) this dress in a vintage store and really love it.  Originally, it was mid-calf length, and I took it to be hemmed (the tailoring cost more than the dress!).  I asked for it to come 4 inches above the knee, hoping that the short length would offset the modest top.  Obviously, the tailor heard "knee length".  Tip: if you're traveling and plan to wear something you've had tailored, TRY IT ON BEFORE YOU LEAVE.  I wore this to my best friend's wedding shower today and felt pretty matronly.  I'll be taking it back to be hemmed to the length I had in mind.
Dress: Vintage
Shoes: Mossimo

It has bee a pretty busy lately since my best friend is getting married on 10-10-10.  I'll be posting sporadically for the next few days, but I'll post pictures of my bridesmaid dress soon.

I think it's a pretty fabulous print! The design of the bodice area is just gorgeous!

the dress is still pretty cute, even with the longer length. I always do my own hemming, but sometimes I go too short!

ahh, 10.10.10
that was my imaginary wedding date. As in, when 2010 seemed soooo far away and I thought for sure I'd have a fiancee by then.... ha.

Best wishes to your friend!!

The bodice detail is so pretty and puff shoulder sleeves are the trend right now! Have fun at the wedding!

I've read that neon is back in full swing! I personally love neon in moderation, for example-neon nail polish. What are your thoughts?

This is cute.. to be honest, maybe you dont need to hem it shorter? I actually think this length is cute. What about altering the neckline a bit lower in a gentle scoop, but thats just me... the color blue and the polka dots look both look really cute on you!
