Okay, I need to get over myself.  I had my little whiney time yesterday about how over the challenge I am, but I need to suck it up and realize what the challenge is all about.  I need to push myself to become more creative and more grateful for what I have.  I have the rest of my life to wear whatever I want, so asking me to spare 30 days doesn't seem like such a tall order when it comes from Kendi!  Thanks for letting me vent a little, it was so nice to hear I'm not the only one feeling this way so soon into the challenge!
Top: Mossimo
Jeans: Gap
Scarf: gifted
Cummerbund: gifted from my pal Felicia
Pin: thrifted
Shoes: Jessica Simpson

I love this cummerbund, and let me tell you why.  Once, when I was having a particurlaly bad day, I went shopping for vintage with my friend Felicia.  I was feeling sort of bummed and didn't really want to see anyone, but she is the type of person who makes you feel really happy even if you're not.  We walked all over Seattle visiting her favorite shops.  In one of the shops, I saw this cummerbund and exclaimed how much I liked it.  I didn't buy it because I was on a self-imposed shopping ban.  Fast forward to my birthday... Felicia remembered how much I liked this and bought it for me.  I couldn't believe she would even remember this, so I was almost in tears.  It really made me happy, and wearing it today makes me equally happy (and sad because I miss my Seattle girls!).
Thanks Felicia!

This outfit is so cute! I never think to wear a scarf and belt like this but whenever I see it on someone I always love it. This version is one of my favs. You've inspired me to try it!

I love your cummerbund, TOO. all the right curves in ALL the right places- and you're allowed to have whiney days. We ALL do that. and we ALL deserve that right every once in a while. I didn't think you were too whiney, anyway. Dang. The challenge is really... challenging!

Yay for remixing because this is such a great look! I never would have thought of a cummerbund! How novel! I like how you used it to 'bund' your scarf! The sleeves on your top are pretty.
