Matchy Matchy

This outfit is one my dear mother would call "matchy matchy".  I always think of her when I match colors or patterns because she always says "I don't want to be too matchy matchy!"  The top matches the shoes and the bracelet matches the belt.  My mom would be so disappointed... I found this top at an old vintage shop in Seattle.  I've worn it only a handful of times, but it was only $12, so to me it's a steal.  Whenever I thirft or buy vintage, I always wonder who wore the garment before me.  I imagine some Designing Ladies-esque woman trapesing around Seattle hoping the frequent rain didn't stain her precious shirt.
Top: Vintage
Skirt: Banana Republic
Belt: Old Navy
Shoes: Aldo
Bracelt: F21

What are your thoughts on "matchy matchy"?

Ha, my family is the opposite, they want everything to be "matchy-matchy" and totally don't get the concept that things just have to "go" not "match". I think it's good to do both looks, keeps it fun and unexpected! :D

My mom is the opposite too! She looks at me all crazy-like when I tell her to treat colored shoes as a neutral. I think you look gorgeous here and not too matchy-matchy.

I ALWAYS think that about vintage pieces too (who had this first). If I really love the piece I will also ask myself, who would give this up?!?!? I love the blue and yellow here! I think your mom would approve! ;-)

Matchy matchy sometimes works really well, like this look. That shade of blue is probably one of my favorites - you look amazing in it!

I love how you added the belt for that pop of color!

I love this look. The yellow belt provides a nice contrast to break up the blue shirt and blue heels so it isn't overly matchy.

I'm not really into matchy matchy but, the belt breaks it up a bit.

I love your rando zebra nail :)
