Underground Railroad

There was a period during my blogging career when I was unemployed.  I quit my job in Seattle to move back to my homestate of Indiana without having any work prospects lined up.  For two months I had fun spending time with all of my friends, going out on weeknights, and blogging.  I got some of the best posts during this time because I had nothing to do but focus on IKC.  My photog buddy Jimmy and I would scout great locations for photos, and this set of tracks produced one of my favorite photos ever from last January:

So when I went back to my hometown yesterday, we had to hit it up for a shoot.  It's great to see how the scene changes with the turning of the seasons.  It's funny because I remember exactly what was going on in my life when each of the photos for IKC was taken.  This blog has not only been a creative outlet for me, but a photographic journal of a great transitional time in my life.  Funny, because all I thought I was doing when I started IKC was taking pictures of my clothes...
Dress: Macy's (gifted from mi mamacita)
Cardigan: Banana Republic
Shoes: xhiliration
Belt: Banana Republic
Bag: Coach
Shades: gifted from my boyfriend

Do you ever look back at old photos and remember exactly what was going on during that period in your life?

Kinsey, this is a cute idea for a post. Love that dress too, and those shoes are pretty sweet.

I love my blog for the very reason of looking back. It's like a mini diary and reminds me of what I was doing and thinking. It's so nice to revisit a space or an outfit and think about how much has changed!

Yes! I love that I've had so much documented. I go back and I'm all, "Oh, man, do I remember that moment!"
Oh, and that dress? Perfection.

It's fun to look back and see how much more confident I am to wear what I want to now. My best pictures come from the month that I wasn't working too! If only someone would pay us to do this, right? :)

This is one of the reasons I adore blogging. Whenever I think about an event, I'm like "when did that happen? Oh, yeah, I'll look on my blog!" I love your pretty dress and I have similar shoes! Isn't it crazy how comfy they really are?!?!?
