Lone Star

Greetings from the Lone Start State! I'm down south for a therapy conference and some family time.  I've been loving spending time with my sister and niece, and the opening session of the conference was wonderful.  Since I spent the first half of the day shopping and socializing and the second half at a semi-casual conference I decided this outfit would fit the bill.  This skirt and top combo has been my summer staple.  I've worn it several time, and it's my "go to" outfit when I need to dress in a hurry.  I love all the navy, and stripes and polka dots are always a classic mix.
Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Banana Republic
Cardigan: Banana Republic
Shoes: xhiliration

It can be a challenge dressing for two different events with different dress requirements.  Since I'm attending a conference and need to dress professionally for the next few days, I tried to pack outfits that would transition well from work to nighttime.  The dress isn't so too strict for a conference, so I can get away with a shorter hemline than I can at the office.  It helps when going from day to night.

What do you wear when you need to be professional and casual in the same day?
