Bright Idea

I'm squeezing the last few nice days out of fall and milking them for all they're worth.  I'm breaking out of my favorite Rebecca Taylor dress and my LOFT skirt (are you getting sick of these yet?) for a summery look.  I'm featuring my favorite pink and purple combination again.  I never seem to get tired of it.  It's so feminine and fun, and perfect for date night.  Last night my boyfriend and I gorged ate at our favorite Italian restaurant, and I always love dressing up for a date.  I told him that even when we're 80 I'll be dressing up in my fanciest windbreaker suit for our dates.  No matter how long you've been dating (or been married), I think that taking the time and effort to look your best for a night with your sweetie is really important.   Am I being old fashioned?
Thank you to Scot for taking my pictures
Top (actually a dress): Rebecca Taylor
Skirt: LOFT
Cardigan: Gap
Shoes: Mossimo
Belt: Charming Charlie
Necklace: gifted from my boyfriend

I thought I was ready for fall, but I have to be honest:  I think I was trying to psych myself up for cold weather by promising myself that I could wear colorful tights and cute boots.   All I want to do is keep the weather in the high 70s year round so I can frolic in pencil skirts with bare legs.

What is your honest opinion about transitioning into fall?

I feel the same way about two things--fall and going out with the bf. It got SO HOT here I almost threw in the towel on summer and heat. but then this weekend we experienced highs in the 40's and I was like "screw winter!!!!!" Also, I always dress up for events with my bf too. Even though he wears a polo and jeans. But it's cool and LOL at your windbreaker suit comment!

On to the outfit, this color combo is delicious. You look just lovely as usual!

I'm doing the same thing today! Holding on to summer!

And I'll never get tired of Loft skirts!

I definitely think looking like a fancy lady for date nights is a good idea. Plus I love a reason to dress up. When I go out, I am typically overdressed but I love it.

Kinsey I agree. You should always look your best, keep it fresh and new around your sweetie! That totally keeps things hot! HAHAHA This outfit looks great on you. I'm loving everything about it. Great hot pink skirt and printed ruffled top (dress). The colors in the belt and cardigan both blend in to the top and skirt (pulls it all together). I transition by wearing layers. But lately its super hot here in new orleans, so we're all mixed up right now. HAHAHA
