The Theater

People, there is an epidemic sweeping our nation!  People just aren't getting dressed up for anything anymore!  Remember my little rant about my disdain for people who choose to wear denim to a wedding?  Well, I kind of feel the same way about the theater.  I'm not saying that people need to get super glammed up, but would it kill people to run a brush through their hair or, perhaps, put on a nice pair of slacks (does anyone else call pants slacks or are my mom and I the only ones)?  Last night my good buddy invited me to go to the theater with him and I was semi-appalled (hey, it is Indiana) by what some people wore out in public.  Maybe I'm being too judgy-wudgy, but put a little effort into it folks!
Top (actually a dress): Jessica Simpson Collection
Skirt: Merona
Shoes: Steve Madden
Pin: thrifted
Bracelet: f21

Am I just being judgmental here?  Are people too schlupy these days, or is it just me?

I don't think it is judgey-wudgy to wish that people would dress up for events! You look incredible in that outfit by the way!

What did you see at the theater?

I was recently at a semi-formal wedding where there were people wearing jeans. Nothing like being disrespectful to the wishes of the bride and groom on their big day. So yeah, I think this insistence that people wear casual ALL THE TIME is out of hand.

I love your cute little pin and how you put it on the waistband.

That's so funny - I just posted today what I'm wearing to Opening Night tonight. I always dress up more than I am tonight, and I feel guilty for dressing down at all.
Men should wear a jacket and chinos, and women should wear heels, skirts, dresses, etc.

No you're not! Love that judgy wudgy comment. HAHAHA I go to the theater all the time and think it is a CATASTROPHE how they come. They pay more for the ticket then their outfit. It's like they don't care! It's appalling to me. Agree with you wholeheartedly! Hope you're having a great day.

Appalled. I frequently (much to my chagrin) spell words incorrectly in various email rants and then want to kick myself after I notice my own mistake. There are no spelling errors when you're speaking your mind face to face but darned if they don't stick it to a perfectly good written out diatribe!

And I'm with you, pull it together homes.

I agree that the theater is a little bit more of a dressier atmosphere. Sadly I know someone that wore denim to a wedding and I was so speechless.

I absolutely adore this post and totally agree with you! I'm still in high school and it absolutely disgusts me what some of my classmates wear to school. I mean, they don't ever get out of their pajamas!

...And thank you ever so much for dropping by my blog the other day! xx
