Maxi Dress

I am so happy that it is finally starting to feel like summer here in Indiana.  It has been a cool summer, and we haven't started having those face-melts-after-two-seconds-outside days until recently.  I personally love those days, especially when I'm enjoying them on the back of a boat cruising around the lake.  However, when I'm hanging around the city it can be hard to keep cool.

Rule number one is don't even bother trying to curl your hair.  Straighten it, pull it up, braid it, do whatever you have to do to keep from the sadness of ruining your 'do in like eight seconds.  Rule number two?  Maxi dresses!  It's the perfect way for me to feel dressed up without wearing too much.  These dressed will also transition perfectly to fall when I layer a chambray button up or cable knit sweater on top.

I bought this dress (on supa sale!) while shopping with a girlfriend who was looking for maternity wear and she was drawn to all the maxi dresses as well because of how comfy and accommodating they are to a growing belly.  I'm not pregnant and don't plan to be, so I guess my maxis will just help hide my food baby after enjoying BBQ at my most favorite place in town (same thing right?)!

You look gorgeous in this maxi dress! Perfect color on you! I live in the dessert and never have really experienced humidity but when I went to Mexico several years ago I took my straightener and my mom laughed and told me not to bother taking it and I told her that if I was on vacation I was going to want to take the time to do my hair. She was right. That hair was quasi straight for about 10 minutes outside of the hotel. LOL

Love this. And I agree. We used to joke when I worked retail in college that dresses should be loose enough to be able to eat a large meal in them. Haha.

The color is great too!
