Modern Equestrian

One of my favorite things in the world is when someone tells me they like an item of clothing I'm wearing and asks me where they can snag it for themselves.  Since I tend to take care of my clothing and keep it a long time, I often feel disappointed when I tell them I purchased something back in 2010 and they can't buy it for their own closet.  I actually tend to find that I get more questions about my wardrobe when I feature thrifted or vintage pieces that are nearly one of a kind today.  Whomp whomp.

This silken top was a thrift store find from last year.  I accidentally stumbled in on 50% off day, and they whole place was bonkers.  I loved the equestrian print of this top and picked it up for less than two bucks.  Two bucks!!  That's less than half the price of my beloved iced mocha I allow myself on Saturday mornings.  I love that it adds such a unique element to my closet, and I didn't have to do more than open my coin purse to acquire it.  This is why I encourage anyone and everyone to take some time at your favorite vintage shop or Goodwill to look for interesting items that won't break the bank.

I love the novelty prints you find on vintage items. The 50s were an especially good era for that!

Such a cute print on this top! Only something you would find at a thrift store. That's perhaps why I love them so dearly!
